The mock orange at the greenhouse is blooming its heart out and is so incredibly fragrant. If only a photograph could portray the smell!

I came across this unique hydrangea at a local garden centre. It’s called Peppermint Swirl. I love it!

I love blue flowers and they’re not so easy to come by. I can’t tell if these have a white eye or a dark blue eye @conniepr, I was googling to try to find a similar variety.

Gardenjane, these ones are black, but I have both. The ones with the white centers are just out of sight in this photo.

Huh, you have to click on the pictures to see the whole photo.

@conniepr, your delphiniums are giants!! Which variety are they?

I noticed that too about seeing the entire photo only when you click on it. Take my photo of the mock orange (philadelphus) for instance. I wonder if it has something to do with the way it’s resized to fit here?

Lotus Flower, I don’t know what variety the delphiniums are as they were here on the property when we bought the house.

They’re lovely! I recall watching Canadian Gardener decades ago now (wow, that is a long time since it aired) with David Tarrant and remembering him getting so excited to see blue flowers in the garden. He would love these!

Thanks for sharing. We all love to see each other’s gardens in bloom.

I remember that program! It was filmed at the UBC (University of British Columbia). It was a garden to visit on my bucket list and I was able to fulfill that two years ago! I love the Nitobe Japanese Garden there! I even did the tree top suspended walkways!

Another favourite program was Gardener’s Journal with Kathy Renwald and Mark Cullin had a garden show too! Now I watch garden shows from the UK and USA on YouTube. I can’t find any Canadian gardening shows though. (all three of the aforementioned programs were Canadian). If anyone knows of any, please let me know. Thanks.

That’s a very pretty flower bed @conniepr! Good layering!

Is that red digitalis the true perennial or a biennial? The true perennial is hard to find. Most flower one year, go to seed and the parent plant dies off. I’d love to see it when it is fully open!

Lotus Flower, the digitalis is not true. It is apparently sterile, but I have been told that if I over winter it in my heated garage, I should be able to get it to flower again next year.

This lovely mondarda (bee balm) is growing another flower like a double decker! I’ve seen this a few times before. Has anyone else?

Awesome, so lovely! Mine did this sometimes, but not much. Unfortunately, my beebalm is really struggling this year and might not even flower. I’m glad I bought a new one this year. It should be opening it’s blooms any day now.

I think hydrangeas are my favourite flowering shrub. I’m excited to plant my new additions Twist N Shout and Bobo. The Twist N Shout is still in a container from the garden centre but the Little Lime Hydrangea and Annabelle are both flowering in the garden.

Thank you so much @shirleym – I looked that up and that is exactly what it is! A Jackmanii Superba Clematis!
I am so excited to be putting proper names to some of these lovely flowering plants, this was one of the
plants that came with the house ha ha so I never purchased it.

Thank you again for finding that name for me. πŸ™‚

You’re welcome @sunnyedm! Jackmanii is one of my all time favourite clematis! I had one at my old house and some birds nested in it. It was a treat for our family to watch the little ones grow up and run around the garden before they learned to fly.

        Very pretty @sunnyedm!
