Soil quality, not fertilizer, determines the health of your plants. If your soil is consistently wet, many of your plants cannot access oxygen in the soil. Add organic matter like compost to the soil. It will help build the soil structure, helping soil drain more freely and prevent it from cracking as clay does when it becomes dry.
